Dr. Uwe Möller is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in European aviation research policy and strategic coordination. Since 2002, he has led the Brussels Office of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and served as a key figure in European aeronautical research networks. Throughout his career, Dr. Möller has held several influential positions, including Secretary and Member of the Executive Secretariat of the Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics (EREA), as well as Secretary of the Advisory Councils for Aviation Research & Innovation in Europe (ACARE). He has been actively involved in shaping Europe’s aviation research agenda, notably contributing to the preparation of the „Flightpath 2050” vision. Since 2011, he has served as Rapporteur for the ACARE Strategy Integration Board and Advisory Councils.
Dr. Möller was a member and alternate of the Governing Boards for Clean Sky 2 (2015–2021) and Clean Aviation (since 2022), major European public-private partnerships for sustainable aviation technologies. He also chaired the EREA Security Research Group and has been an active member of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) External Affairs Committee since 2002.
He began his professional career as a scientific officer at the DLR Institute for Materials Research, where he contributed to setting up the Microgravity User Support Center (MUSC) in Cologne. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Physics, awarded for research on crystal growth under microgravity conditions at RWTH Aachen University and DLR.
Dr. Möller has been recognized for his contributions to administration and scientific coordination, notably receiving the „Gesellschaft von Freunden des DLR” award in 1994. His longstanding commitment has significantly influenced European aeronautics research, innovation strategies, and international cooperation.
